• ATV – Heat Shield Behind Seats:

Benefit: Reduces heat transferred to the seats • Cut to size. Fasten with cable ties or screws with fender washers to framing. Refer to “Temperature Disclaimer” above.

• Airplane Window Shade:

Benefit: Reduces heat gain into aircraft • Cut to size. Refer to “RV Window Disclaimer” above.

• Auto – Firewall Insulation – Auto Interior Only:

Benefit: Reduces heat gain through the firewall • Cut to size. Adhere to firewall with an appropriately rated glue or contact cement.

• Auto Windshield Shade – Custom:

Benefit: Reduces heat gain into the vehicle • Cut to size.

• Cargo Trailer:

Benefit: Reduces temperature inside the trailer • Refer to the Masonry Wall Application. Product can be adhered with screws, staples, adhesive or contact cement. The benefit is enhanced if installed with an enclosed air space on the exterior facing side of the product.

• Chicken Coop:

Benefit: Maintains a more comfortable temperature for livestock resulting in higher productivity • Refer to the Masonry Wall Application. Product can be adhered with screws, staples, adhesive or contact cement.

• Cooler Cover/Liner:

Benefit: Maintains a cooler temperature so ice and food will last longer

– Installation #1: Goal is to create a box that goes over the top of the cooler. Measure the sides and top. Cut product to required dimension. Tape the seams with Reflectix Foil Tape.

– Installation #2: Measure the inside dimensions of the cooler. Place product in the bottom, sides and lid of the cooler.

• Costume – Suit of Armor:

Benefit: Fun! • Decide what design you require. Take needed measurements. Cut to required dimensions. Tape the seams with Reflectix Foil Tape.

• Food Container – Custom Cover:

Benefit: Maintains a consistent food temperature for a longer period of time • Goal is to construct an envelope to enclose your food storage container. Measure width and length of the food container. Cut to this width and double the length plus 2”. Tape the linear seams with Reflectix Foil Tape leaving a 2” flap on the open end.

• Green House:

Benefit: Maintains a more constant temperature in the building • Refer to the Storage Building Application. The product can be adhered with screws, staples, adhesive or contact cement.

• Hot Tub:

Benefit: Maintains a more constant water temperature and uses less electricity • Measure the outside dimensions of the tub. Adhere the product to the tub with an appropriately rated contact cement.

• Light Reflector:

Benefit: Increases the working light for many projects • Cut product to an appropriate dimension and place the sheet adjacent to your work light. Refer to “Temperature Disclaimer” above.

• Mechanic Floor Mat:

Benefit: A comfortable and cleaner surface to work on, low height, easy to slide on • Cut product to a 5’ x 4’ dimension. Place under car.

• Mini Storage Facility:

Benefit: Multiple R-value options • Refer to the Storage Building Application. The product can be adhered with screws, staples, adhesive or contact cement.

• Mobile Home Crawl Space:

Benefit: R-16 or R-21 • Refer to the Crawl Space Application. The product can be adhered with screws, staples, adhesive or contact cement.

• Pet House (Cats & Dogs):

Benefit: A more comfortable home for your best friend and no fibers • Attach Reflectix to the interior framing/panel of the structure. The product can be adhered with screws, staples, adhesive or contact cement. Note: Some animals may be prone to tear out the product if left exposed. You may need to consider covering.

• Picnic Table:

– Table Cover: Benefit: Comfortable on a table top and easy to clean – Roll up for transport and storage • Cut to the size of the picnic table. If necessary utilize Reflectix Foil Tape for taping seams.

– Seat Cushion: Benefit: Comfort • Cut to required size. Can be folded over multiple times for added cushion.

• Plant Indoor Grow Room:

Benefit: Dramatically enhances lighting and maintains warmer air temperature • Laminate or fasten the product to the walls and ceiling of the interior of the grow room. The product can be adhered with screws, staples, adhesive or contact cement.

• Pool House – Roof:

Benefit: Reduces heat gain into the structure • Refer to the Storage Building Application. The product can be adhered with screws, staples, adhesive or contact cement.

• Pop-up Camper:

Benefit: Helps maintain a warmer indoor temperature in cold weather • Line the interior walls and roof of the camper with the product. Attach the product to the framing of the camper. Reflectix Foil Tape can be utilized for seaming. Be cautious not to damage the canvas when installing Reflectix.

• Pull Down Attic Stairs:

Benefit: Reduces the heat gain/loss through stairway opening in the ceiling (depending on the season) • Measure the stair height, length and width that extends into the attic. Construct a “box” that will cover the stairs. Utilize Reflectix Foil Tape for seaming.

• RV Generator Box Reflector:

Benefit: Reduces heat transfer to the interior of the RV • Determine which walls within the generator box are transmitting heat into the RV. Measure the dimensions of these walls. Cut and adhere each product section with an appropriately rated contact cement. Refer to “Temperature Disclaimer” above.

• RV Vent Cover:

Benefit: Reduces air infiltration and heat transfer into and out of the RV • Measure and cut the product to the vent dimensions then secure in place.

• RV Window Shade:

Benefit: Reduces heat gain to the interior of the RV • Measure and cut the product to the required window dimensions. Refer to “RV Window Disclaimer” above.

• Sauna:

Benefit: R-3.7 or R-7.0 options and a vapor/moisture barrier • Refer to the Wine Room Application and ensure the instructions for the sauna are adhered to. Refer to “Temperature Disclaimer” above.

• Seat Cushion:

Benefit: Comfort • Cut to required size. Product can be folded over multiple times for added cushion.

• Sill Seal – Storage Room or Shed:

Benefit: Sill seal between the base plate and slab • Measure the width of the base plate and the required length for the walls. Cut to this size. Install between the base plate and slab.

• Sleeping Bag Pad:

Benefit: More comfortable when on hard ground • Measure and cut to the “footprint” dimension of your sleeping bag. Place under bag. It easily rolls up for hiking and storage.

• Tent Pad:

Benefit: Increases comfort and is a vapor/moisture barrier from under the tent • Measure and cut the dimensions of the tent base. Install under tent during tent setup.

• Tire Cover:

Benefit: Protects tires from harmful UV rays • Measure the width and circumference of the tire. Cut product to this dimension minus 10” in length. Measure the diameter of the tire and cut product to this (round) measurement. Wrap the tire and place the round cut product on the face of the tire. Tape all seams with Reflectix Foil Tape. Ensure a fairly snug fit for the cover, to prevent wind from blowing the cover off the tire.

Review These Important Safety Guidelines Prior to Installation:

  • ALWAYS check local building codes before installing Reflectix®.
  • ALWAYS check the area you are insulating and make any needed repairs. Any worn wiring should be replaced before you begin installing Reflectix®.
  • ALWAYS make sure work areas are well ventilated and well lighted.
  • ALWAYS use eye protection when operating a staple gun.
  • ALWAYS use caution and common sense when using a staple gun. Be aware of electrical wiring locations. Stapling into a wire can cause severe shock or death. NEVER staple into electrical wiring.
  • ALWAYS be careful when working with large pieces of Reflectix® on windy days.
  • When installing Reflectix® on bright sunny days, it is best to wear sun glasses.
  • Do not work in areas such as attics when temperatures are too hot.
